Why Performance Matters

Make Your Website Easier to Use.

Visitors should be able to see your content, navigate your pages, and complete an enquiry or purchase without unnecessary waiting or disruption.

Slow-loading content, delayed interactions, and shifting layouts create friction. The cause may sit across several layers: oversized images, heavy scripts, plugins, third-party tools, caching, or server response.

Bipixels identifies what is slowing the experience down and implements improvements around the way your website actually works.

Proof in Practice

Performance Work. Long-Term Partnership.

Chekin

Chekin’s partnership with Bipixels began in 2018, addressing a WordPress website experiencing slow performance and downtime.

The work started with a hosting migration and developed into an ongoing technical partnership covering frontend implementation, multilingual delivery, integrations, maintenance, and performance improvements.

Documented PageSpeed Insights snapshot

Mobile Performance (86/100)

Desktop Performance (93/100)

Reports generated September 24, 2026. These are Lighthouse lab scores from that test date, not guarantees of future performance or a Core Web Vitals pass.

The case study includes the original 2018 GTmetrix report, infrastructure changes, and the dated PageSpeed Insights results.

What We Improve

Find the Bottlenecks. Fix the Causes.

The scope depends on your website and the issues identified during assessment.

Performance Audits & Priorities

Understand what is slowing your website down and what to address first.

We assess representative pages, important user journeys, test reports, and the underlying implementation to prioritise improvements by likely impact and technical effort.

Core Web Vitals

Improve how quickly the main content appears, how promptly the page responds, and how stable the layout feels.

We investigate Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) using real-user data where available, supported by lab diagnostics.

Images, Fonts & Media

Deliver the right assets at the right time.

We review image dimensions, responsive delivery, compression, formats, font loading, video embeds, and loading priorities so important content can appear sooner and offscreen media can load when needed.

Frontend Code & Third-Party Scripts

Reduce unnecessary work in the browser.

We review CSS, JavaScript, render-blocking resources, animations, tracking scripts, chat widgets, and embeds—balancing performance with the features your business needs.

WordPress Themes, Plugins & Database

Improve the implementation behind your WordPress website.

We assess theme and page-builder output, plugin overhead, database queries, and resource loading to identify unnecessary work and targeted improvements.

Caching, CDN & Hosting

Improve how efficiently your website delivers content.

We review browser and server caching, CDN configuration, redirects, and server response. Dynamic areas such as carts, account pages, and personalised content need configuration that preserves their behaviour.

When You Need Performance Support

When Speed Starts Getting in the Way.

Your Website Feels Slow on Mobile

Important content takes too long to appear, interactions feel delayed, or pages shift while visitors are using them.

Your Reports Flag Persistent Issues

PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, or Pingdom identify problems, but you need someone to diagnose the causes and implement the fixes.

New Features Have Added Weight

Plugins, campaigns, integrations, tracking tools, or design changes have gradually made the website slower.

Your Agency Needs Technical Implementation

Your team has identified performance issues and needs a development partner to resolve them while preserving the approved design and functionality.

How We Work

From Diagnosis to Verified Improvements.

01 — Establish the Baseline

We review your website, priorities, platform, and existing reports. We select representative pages and record the test conditions so subsequent comparisons are meaningful.

02 — Agree the Priorities

We identify the main bottlenecks and define the scope, dependencies, and trade-offs. You know what we recommend changing and why.

03 — Implement the Improvements

We work through the agreed changes, using a staging environment where appropriate and checking how each change affects the website.

04 — Test Performance & Functionality

We repeat tests under comparable conditions and check relevant layouts, navigation, forms, integrations, and purchase flows.

05 — Handover & Keep Improving

You receive a summary of the changes, results, remaining limitations, and recommended next steps. Ongoing monitoring and further improvements can be arranged separately.

How We Measure

Clear Evidence. Useful Context.

We use Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Pingdom to investigate performance and evaluate changes.

Lab tests help diagnose issues under defined conditions. Real-user data, where available, shows how visitors experience the website across actual devices and networks.

Scores from different tools are not directly interchangeable. We compare results using consistent conditions and explain what changed, what remains, and what the findings mean for your website.

Questions, Answered.

Can you improve our existing website without rebuilding it?

Yes. Many performance issues can be addressed within the existing website. Bipixels assesses the current implementation first and identifies what can be improved. If a theme, platform, or architectural limitation requires a larger change, we explain the reason before recommending it.

Can you improve our PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, or Pingdom results?

Yes. We use these tools to identify bottlenecks and guide technical improvements. The achievable results depend on the website, hosting, required functionality, third-party services, and agreed scope. We evaluate the underlying metrics and user experience alongside the scores.

Do you guarantee a 100/100 PageSpeed score?

No. Scores vary with test conditions and the website’s implementation. Essential features and third-party services can also affect the result. We agree realistic objectives after assessing the website and report the improvements achieved.

Do you optimise WordPress websites using Elementor, Gutenberg, or custom themes?

Yes. Bipixels works with WordPress websites built using Elementor, Gutenberg, custom themes, and plugins. We assess the existing setup and make targeted improvements while checking that editing workflows, layouts, and functionality continue to work.

Will optimisation affect our design, forms, tracking, or checkout?

Performance changes can affect how assets and scripts load, so functional testing is part of the work. We check the relevant features within the agreed scope and discuss any change that would alter the design, behaviour, or business requirements.

Why might Core Web Vitals data take time to reflect improvements?

PageSpeed Insights real-user data covers a rolling 28-day period, so it does not immediately reflect a newly deployed change. Lab tests can provide earlier feedback, while field data needs time and sufficient visitor samples to show the updated experience.

What determines the cost and timeline?

Cost and timing depend on the platform, affected templates, technical issues, hosting, third-party dependencies, and testing requirements. We review the website to define the scope and provide an estimate and timeline before implementation begins.

What do you need from us to get started?

Share your website URL, main concerns, important pages or user journeys, and any existing performance reports. For implementation, we may need securely shared access to the CMS, hosting, CDN, or relevant services. We confirm the access required after reviewing the scope.

Can you help maintain performance after the initial work?

Yes. New content, plugins, scripts, and platform updates can introduce performance issues. Bipixels can provide ongoing checks and technical improvements through a separately agreed support arrangement.
