The web is changing

People See the Page. Machines Need the Meaning.

Your WordPress website was designed for a browser.

That makes sense for people.

But AI agents, retrieval systems and emerging machine clients often need something different: the underlying content without the interface around it.

Navigation. Layout wrappers. Interactive components. Repeated interface text. Presentation markup.

All useful to a visitor.

Not always useful to a machine trying to understand the page.

Agentic Markdown Bridge adds another way to retrieve the same published information:

clean Markdown, attached to the existing URL.

You keep publishing in WordPress exactly as before.

  • Same content
    Use your existing WordPress content.
  • Different representation
HTML for people, Markdown for machines.
  • No extra work
No second CMS or manual files.

How it works

One Page. Two Formats.

Your HTML page remains the normal web experience. Agentic Markdown Bridge creates a corresponding /index.md representation for eligible WordPress URLs.

There is no second CMS, no duplicate page and no Markdown file for your team to maintain manually. WordPress remains the source.

Key benefits

Why it matters.

The goal is not to redesign your website for AI. It is to give different consumers the representation that makes sense for them.

Clearer structure

One publishing workflow

Built for an agentic web

Automatic discovery

Machines shouldn’t have to guess where the content is.

Creating Markdown is only part of the problem. Machine clients also need a way to discover that another representation exists.

Agentic Markdown Bridge supports web-native discovery mechanisms including:

  • Per-page /index.md representations
  • rel="alternate" Markdown discovery
  • HTTP discovery metadata
  • Accept: text/markdown content negotiation
  • Canonical relationship handling

The Markdown layer is not just another hidden file. It becomes part of the page’s machine-readable publishing architecture.

Bipixels uses it.

This isn’t a concept. Agentic Markdown Bridge is already running on Bipixels. Same source content. Different representation.

Complementary, not competing

Beyond llms.txt

llms.txt can provide machine-readable guidance or a curated overview of a website. But an index of a website and the actual representation of a page are different problems.

Agentic Markdown Bridge focuses on the second one: it makes the individual WordPress URLs themselves available as Markdown. They can be used together. They are not substitutes for each other.

Frequently asked questions

Agentic Markdown Bridge FAQ

What does Agentic Markdown Bridge do?

It adds a machine-readable Markdown representation to eligible WordPress URLs while preserving the normal HTML website for human visitors.

What URL does the Markdown version use?

Eligible URLs can expose a corresponding /index.md representation. For example, example.com/about/ becomes example.com/about/index.md.

Will visitors see Markdown instead of my website?

No. Visitors browsing your normal page URLs continue to see your website. Markdown is an additional format for AI agents, developer tools and anyone who deliberately requests it.

Is this the same as llms.txt?

No. llms.txt is generally a site-level document or guidance layer. Agentic Markdown Bridge provides page-level Markdown representations of eligible WordPress URLs. They can be used together.

Can I control what gets exposed?

Yes. The plugin includes controls for eligible content, exclusions and custom Markdown overrides where more precise representation is needed.

Do I need an AI account or API key?

No. Agentic Markdown Bridge generates and serves Markdown from your WordPress site without an AI account, API key or SaaS subscription.

Does it send my content to Bipixels or AI providers?

Not automatically. The plugin makes your content available as Markdown without automatically transmitting it to Bipixels or calling an AI API. Optional AI-assisted llms.txt tools are user-initiated and may share a prompt with your chosen AI service.

Does it guarantee better search rankings or AI citations?

No. The plugin provides clean Markdown and discovery signals. Each search engine or AI system decides whether and how to use them. Rankings, inclusion in AI answers and citations are not guaranteed.
